A university scholar was sitting on a bench studying in California’s Arcata Neighborhood Forest, when a mountain lion all of the sudden appeared, and the 2 had a superb stare down. The unnamed faculty scholar captured a video of the encounter and shared it with a hiker passing by, who then shared it to an area Fb group.
Lore Bazemore is the passerby who shared the school scholar’s video to Humboldt County On Alert. She wrote: “Yesterday, within the Arcata Neighborhood Forest on the junction of Path #6 and the higher a part of the Jane’s Creek path l met a younger faculty scholar who present me this footage unedited. She had been sitting on the inexperienced bench, studying went out of the nook of her eye [and] she noticed what she thought was a canine approaching.”

Bazemore says the scholar began taking a video and stood as much as present the lion she was a human (not prey). The mountain lion finally stared her down after which left peacefully.
