Twin Opens up After Brother’s Horrific Shark Attack While Surfing


“That is the toughest second of my life,” wrote Mike Psillakis in a dedication to his twin brother, who died by shark attack while surfing this previous weekend. The Psillakis twins have been an necessary a part of the browsing neighborhood of their NSW (New South Wales) neighborhood in northern Sydney, Australia. And now the household and the neighborhood at giant is mourning their nice loss.

Mike’s twin, Mercury Psillakis, was 57 years previous, and he left behind his spouse and daughter. Mercury was browsing with a gaggle at Lengthy Reef Seaside on Saturday when a big shark attacked him from behind as he tried to warn different swimmers concerning the animal. The shark bit off “a number of limbs,” and Mercury succumbed to his injuries.

“He was my Ying, I used to be his Yang,” wrote Mike Psillakis in his Instagram submit. “He was my mirror, my blood, my DNA [. . .] Mercury was my life, my proper hand man. Phrases can not describe the bond we had collectively rising up. We had our personal language and shared the identical goals, actually. The experiences we had collectively have been really wonderful.”

He encourages his neighborhood to inform their family members that they love them, to “maintain them tight,” and to “eliminate the filter that hides who you actually are.”
