
On the morning of December 20, the Yellowstone Volcano Observatory webcam caught a “soiled eruption” on the park’s Black Diamond Pool at Biscuit Basin. A “soiled” eruption is one that features a bunch of mud, rocks, and different particles. It’s fairly fascinating to see.

“This morning [. . .] we bought a pleasant clear view of one in every of these soiled eruptions beneath shiny blue skies with the environment lined in snow (ah, winter in Yellowstone!),” wrote USGS Volcanoes in a Fb put up sharing the video. “A terrific instance of the fashion of exercise that has been occurring at Black Diamond Pool over the previous 19 months!”
