The Pipsqueakery introduces the candy little critter as Greg, a pleasant Patagonian mara that lives on the sanctuary. Patagonian maras are long-legged rodents native to Argentina. Within the video, Greg makes a purr/squeak/whistle-y sound that’s extremely distinctive. When a human reaches in to pet Greg, the sound turns into much more intense.
