An animal native to Queensland, Australia hasn’t been across the Bowra Wildlife Sanctuary for a decade, no less than so far as scientists know. “A bit little bit of possum magic in outback Queensland,” wrote the Australian Wildlife Conservancy (AWC) in an Instagram publish sharing a photograph of the uncommon animal. “The workforce at Bowra Wildlife Sanctuary on Kunja Nation have captured a Brushtail Possum on a digicam lure – the primary sighting of the species on sanctuary in over a decade!”
Scientists had been thrilled with the discover.
“I truly did a double take on the photos,” AWC Wildlife Ecologist Helena Stokes said in an AWC press release. “We haven’t had any indicators of possums residing on sanctuary in a very long time, then sanctuary managers lately discovered some scat we suspected to be from a possum, after which the images turned up a few weeks later. It was an ideal shock.”
