New trail-cam video from Thailand’s Khao Luang Nationwide Park reveals a uncommon “fireplace tiger” within the forest. “Hearth tiger” is a nickname for the Asian Golden Cat (Catopuma temminckii), a medium-sized wild cat native to northeastern Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and China. Wildlife officers say this sighting is a good signal.
“Tutorial officers and patrol officers from the 2nd crew (Ai Khiao Waterfall) inspected photographs from digicam traps in Khao Luang Nationwide Park and located a tremendous picture of a ‘Hearth Tiger’, a uncommon and endangered wildlife, strolling via a wildlife entice clearly,” wrote Thailand’s Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation on Fb. “This can be a signal that the ecosystem within the space continues to be full and appropriate for the habitat of uncommon wildlife.”

The division explains that fireside tigers are necessary predators within the forest ecosystem, as a result of they assist management the inhabitants of small animals and rodents. “The presence of fireside tigers in any space is an indication that the forest in that space is full and the ecosystem continues to be in good situation,” it says.
