Researchers observe that organisms that dwell in arid environments, like rattlesnakes, generally have “distinctive diversifications to reap water from rare and unpredictable rainfall.” In the course of the research, scientists simulated rainfall after which recorded the habits of 94 prairie rattlesnakes. They famous “novel options” of rain-harvesting habits, together with “suspended head consuming, physique levering, and consuming from neighboring snakes,” the researchers wrote.

IFLScience shared a video from the scientists’ analysis exhibiting this rain-harvesting habits in motion. At one level within the video, two rattlesnakes drink water from one other one’s head, and now I’m questioning, will they return the favor?
