Betty Reid Soskin, often called “Ranger Betty” died earlier this week on the age of 104. Soskin was the oldest energetic ranger within the U.S. till her retirement from the Nationwide Park Service (NPS) on the age of 100. Soskin spent the final a part of her profession working on the Rosie the Riveter WWII Home Front National Historical Park, an NPS website in Richmond, California.
In an Instagram submit devoted to Soskin after her peaceable passing on December 21, the NPS known as her a “trailblazing Nationwide Park Service ranger.”
“Throughout her time with the Nationwide Park Service, Betty made vital contributions to the event of Rosie the Riveter WWII Dwelling Entrance Nationwide Historic Park,” wrote NPS in its tribute submit. “She was a robust voice for sharing her private experiences, highlighting untold tales, and honoring the contributions of girls from various backgrounds who labored on the World Struggle II Dwelling Entrance. Thanks in your service, Ranger Betty.”
